Some of ya’ll may know or may have noticed that I’ve been working on getting healthier, but most of you didn’t!
I’m a HUGE (no pun intended) emotional eater, and boredom eater, and honestly I just really love food.
I had gained over THIRTY POUNDS in the last year and a half.
At the end of February-ish, I saw a photo of myself and I was mortified. I looked like a beached whale. Literally. (I was standing on a beach.) I was so disgusted with this lazy, unmotivated person that I had become, and I decided to change it. I downloaded myfitnesspal and started tracking EVERYTHING. Didn’t even miss a dollop of ketchup. I started walking again, then jogging, and now I’m back to running (mostly). Nothing like running pushing 50 pounds of child/stroller to get you back in shape. Those memes you see on pinterest that say “running is cheaper than therapy?” Yeah, those are pretty much 100% accurate.
In the last six weeks, I’ve lost 21 POUNDS and SEVEN INCHES from just my neck, waist and hips! I still have a long way to go, and I wasn’t even going to post this until I lost at least the whole thirty, but decided that having a whole mess of people to hold me accountable would be the PERFECT way to keep myself motivated. I still have eleven pounds to go until my next goal, but breaking that 20lb mark felt awesome!
Here is what my progress looks like so far, and just so you know, I have NEVER posted a “before-and-after” picture publicly before in my life.

I plan to post these updates monthly, at least, until I reach my goal! I will also be posting some of my favorite recipes that I’ve tweaked to be a little more healthy. If you have some suggestions, PLEASE feel free to comment them below. I’m always looking for new things to cook for my family! 🙂
